Week 9 at the Techstars Accelerator Program
Hello hello from all of us still alive here in week 9! 👋
As usual, we’re excited to share all the latest happenings and non-happenings from the past week with you.
The business side of things
As you may already know from our previous updates, we’ve been pretty busy preparing ourselves to perfect our demo day pitches. We’ve got more coming up but recently a large chunk of our focus has been dedicated to closing the first round of investments.
Aside from that, we’ve also received some great news from a prospective client on Tuesday — they would like to start 3 pilot projects with us! This is a really cool opportunity for us to make a tremendous impact on the future development of our company. We’re hella excited. And we’re thankful everything in this regard is going much better than we could expect.
But that doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels just yet. We’re constantly exploring new use cases that could be a perfect match while talking to prospective clients from different verticals.
And there’s more.
All while doing our best to juggle all these key areas at once, we’re also expanding our US team. We’ve already met some brilliant new folks. So that’s something to look forward to in our future updates as we put the team together.
And now a peek inside the team
We’re all doing pretty well for the most part, except for Jan — who is now sick (due to full-blast ACs everywhere at all times) while the rest of us pray not to catch it.
But to make up for it, Jan is staying another two weeks because he managed to schedule three meetings with our business partner. Needless to say, Roman was very impressed. 👍
Dominik, on the other hand, already made his way back to Prague on Monday. Although his time was short, he sure made the most of it by attending CTO meetings, meetings with potential clients, and of course — diving into the Techstars network where he got in touch with experienced devs who will help him to continue to grow professionally. See you back on the other side, Dominik!
The Techstars startup weekend
As far as the startup scene is concerned, Techstars put on a mega 54-hour Startup Weekend event designed to provide education for those wanting to learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur. It was a pretty neat experience.
Of course, Jakub took part in this Startup Weekend and even mentored other participating startup teams.
In another event, Jan and Albert attended the Blockchain for Schools event — in which students participated in a form of “Mentor Madness” with companies (us) for 10-minute group sessions each. At the end, each student was asked to pick a company and make a pitch about that company’s offering. Now that’s practical experience and a brilliant way for kids to get introduced to the scene.
And with that, our update for week 9 is over. Stay tuned for what goes on with us next week!
“Veracity Protocol brings a new authenticity standard of fingerprinting physical objects to combat counterfeits. Thanks to computer vision and machine learning, we identify unique material characteristics and use them for future protection, verification and visual inspection. Unlike tags, chips or markers that need to be embedded and can be removed or tampered with, our solution works with items’ surfaces even when damaged and is still 100% tamper-proof.”
