Hello hello — from inside the hustle and bustle of Techstars in NYC. Already at week 11, there’s no denying that we’re all feeling our fair share of exhaustion. But at the same time, all our efforts have been paying off big time. So no complaints there. We’re always excited to share our journey with you as it’s been happening week by week.

So here’s what went down in week 11!

The business stuff

Although we can’t name any names, all our running pilots are in development and are doing very well — we’re in the process of finalizing our solution and preparing everything for the handover. At the same time, we’re also taking care of other negotiations and are defining the details of our agreement, which are also going down smooth paths so we’re quite happy about all of this.

Another big yay for this week is that we’ve been invited to an outstanding event as a part of one of our pilot projects. As for the guys in our dev team led by Kamil, they did an awesome job with preparing the entire tech stack and our product’s interface for a real use case where blockchain is leveraged –– ultimately getting us to the nice position we’re at now.

The program

Most of our focus has been on preparing for the big demo day, where each team at Techstars will pitch their idea/product/company to 200+ investors. The main idea for this is to allow each team to explain what their company does, which problem it actually solves, and how the company plans to make money –– all in just 5 minutes.

Yep, these 5 minutes will cheerfully represent weeks and weeks worth of prep, sweat, and tears.

As you can imagine, we’re all busy fine-tuning slides, polishing up the speech and memorizing our lines. Like an audition, we just really want the part.

Every team will be pushing to grab the attention of investors, potential business partners and of course to create a little buzz going for their project.

As much as we were behind with all the prep, we’ve really pulled things together and have managed to catch up –– as usual, at the expense of spending most of our weekend working like mad.

But, that’s okay. :’)

The Jan section

So the time has finally come where Honza (Jan), really left to go back to Prague. He was supposed to leave weeks ago, but he did so well here that we just had to keep him 3x longer. Jan helped us out a lot when it came to jumping on business calls (even winning us potential proofs-of-concept and pilot projects!) and remotely managing the Prague dev team. What we will miss most, of course, is how well Jan can make coffee for us. :D

The rest of us are doing fine.

Until next time!

Veracity Protocol brings a new authenticity standard of fingerprinting physical objects to combat counterfeits. Thanks to computer vision and machine learning, we identify unique material characteristics and use them for future protection, verification and visual inspection. Unlike tags, chips or markers that need to be embedded and can be removed or tampered with, our solution works with items’ surfaces even when damaged and is still 100% tamper-proof.”
